About your trainer - Kirsty Lewis (DTC-CDT)
"A trained dog is a happy dog" - this is a phrase I heard as a child. It has stuck with me and I believe it is as important now as it was in the 1970s. Training is fun. Training is life. Training gives our dogs the best chance in our modern world.
Helping others achieve a happy dog, confident in its own abilities and in the world around them is my training goal. Through dog sports and 121 manners training I continue to see my clients and their dogs' confidence grow and flourish. I use modern ethical training methods and encourage handlers to respect and work with the dog in front of them.
I train my own dogs and love competing in agility and hoopers. Everyday is a learning opportunity and my dogs and I have the best time developing our skills together and demonstrating such at various country shows throughout the year.

Fun, reward based agility training. Suitable for beginners to experienced and competing partnerships. Whether 'just for fun' which is super fun or planning competition which is great fun too, BTAC offers relaxed, reward based sequence and obstacle training. Great fun for all! Train your dog to run through a course with hoops, tunnels, barrels and mats. Fun, flowing courses for all dogs and abilities. Suitable for beginners to experienced and competing partnerships. Canine Hoopers World Accredited Trainers (CHW1 and CHW2). Also available as 121. Classes run from 17th April 2024 in Horton Cum Studley, 15 minutes from Thame and Bicester.

BARN HUNT WORKSHOPS Are you looking for a new, fun activity you can do with your dog? Then Barn Hunt is for you! Barn Hunt is a relatively new sport to the UK for dogs and handlers. The task - to find hidden tubes containing a rat (dead). As the handler, you will learn to read the dog’s indication signals letting you know when the tube has been located whilst learning to dismiss the dummy tubes. This all inclusive sport works with only one dog in the barn at a time and our workshops are open to dogs from 6 months old. First session for new clients FREE - come and see what we do and how we work. We train the dog in front of us and teach handlers how to build hoop value, teach tunnels and barrels and progress to running short courses. Indoor venue. Level 1 and 2 accredited trainers Hoopers is a great dog sport offering flowing courses with no tight turns, no jumping and is suitable for young through to old dogs. Owners of all abilities are able to enjoy handling their dogs and can choose to run alongside or develop distance handling techniques.

Events
EDIT: FULLY BOOKED Multi sports activity weekend for bull terriers and miniature bull terriers. An opportunity to meet up with like minded owners and their fabulous dogs, share stories, laugh till you burst and we will do our best to feed you to bursting too! BBQ and our infamous quiz night like no other! £160 for 1 handler and 1 dog 5th July - 7th July Booking from 6th January 2024 using the Google Form link in the description
BTAC will be onsite both days running Have-A-Go Agility AND Hoopers!!
BTAC will be attending this new event and will be running our Have-A-Go AGILITY ring alongside @RiscorisGundogs who will be running scurries and gundog demos.
3 hour dog sports training workshop. Max 6 dogs. Dog work individually with only one dog at a time in the ring. Remaining dogs will be behind the wooden fence crated or on beds. Suitable for beginners to intermediate (grades 1-3 KC) All dogs welcome.
BTAC will be running have-a-go agility and hoopers at this year's All About Dogs Norfolk £3 for one run / £5 for 2 runs (can be mixed family dog or activity)
A breed specific weekend for BULL TERRIERS and MINIATURE BULL TERRIERS. A fantastic weekend created to enable owners and their dogs to experience training in an understanding, friendly environment with like minded people and trainers who adore the breeds.
BTAC will be hosting and running HAVE-A-GO rings at 6 'We Love Dogs' shows throughout the summer season in 2023. Do come and join us.
